Corpse Bride 2 (2026) – Return to the Afterlife

Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride (2005) captivated audiences with its unique blend of dark whimsy, gothic romance, and stop-motion animation. Now, in 2026, the eerie yet enchanting world of the dead is coming back with Corpse Bride 2, a highly anticipated sequel that promises to delve deeper into the afterlife, love, and the mysterious forces that bind the living and the d**d.
Plot: Corpse Bride 2 picks up several years after the original film. Victor Van Dort (voiced by Johnny Depp) and his beloved Emily, the Corpse Bride (voiced by Helena Bonham Carter), are living a somewhat peaceful existence in the underworld, after their whirlwind romance and the resolution of the love triangle with Victoria Everglot (voiced by Emily Watson). However, peace is disrupted when an unexpected visitor from the past reappears, throwing their quiet life into chaos.

As Victor begins to feel more at home in the land of the d**d, he begins to realize that there is something unsettling lurking beneath the surface of the underworld. The realm is beginning to feel increasingly unstable, and an ancient curse that ties the two worlds together is threatening to pull everything into disarray. The spirits of the d**d are becoming restless, and something is causing a rift between the worlds of the living and the d**d, making the boundary between them weaker than ever before.
Emily, ever devoted to Victor, becomes determined to help him find a way to restore balance between the two worlds, but when a new figure—Lord Blackthorn, a charismatic yet sinister spirit from the past (voiced by Timothy Dalton)—arrives, their lives are thrown into turmoil. Lord Blackthorn claims to be an ancestor of Emily’s, and he offers her a tempting deal: if she helps him unravel a deep mystery tied to the very fabric of the afterlife, he will grant her and Victor eternal life together in the world of the living.
