“Return of the Guardians of Kumandra”

Set several years after the events of the first film, Raya and the Last Dragon 2 opens an epic new chapter, delving into the mystical world and rich culture of Kumandra. Under the unified leadership of its tribes, the land is on the verge of recovery, but that fragile peace is soon threatened by an unforeseeable threat. A mysterious dark energy, known as the Blight, begins to spread, draining the life from Kumandra’s rivers, forests, and villages.

Raya (Kelly Marie Tran), now a respected leader of the Heart tribe, discovers that the Blight is linked to a forgotten artifact, buried deep within the Dragon Mist—the sacred, forbidden land of Kumandra. Joined by Sisu (Awkwafina) – the last dragon – and her close friends Boun (Izaac Wang), Tong (Benedict Wong) and little Noi, Raya embarks once again on an epic journey to save her homeland.

Their adventure takes them through dangerous and mysterious terrain: the Whispering Caves, where echoes reveal hidden secrets, and the Shifting Sands, a desert that changes shape constantly. Along the way, they meet new allies: Amara, a proud warrior of a dragon tribe, and Karo, a cunning but surprising shapeshifter. Meanwhile, Sisu is forced to confront the truth about her dragon past, and Raya struggles with the eternal question: can she truly trust others, after the wounds of betrayal from her past?

In the climactic battle, Raya and her teammates must unite and overcome their inner fears to restore balance to Kumandra. The film ends with an emotional reunion between dragonborn and human, affirming the eternal message: unity and faith are the keys to overcoming darkness.
