The much-anticipated second season of The Day of the Jackal picks up exactly where Season 1 left off, plunging audiences deeper into a gripping world of espionage, betrayal, and personal conflict.

Eddie Redmayne returns as the enigmatic and lethal assassin known as the Jackal, maneuvering through a dangerous web of shifting allegiances and bitter rivalries.

In the aftermath of Season 1’s explosive finale, the Jackal finds himself fighting a war on two fronts: attempting to mend his fractured relationship with his estranged wife Nuria (Úrsula Corberó), while confronting the ruthless betrayal of his former employer Timothy Winthrop (Charles Dance), who has double-crossed him on a critical contract. This season promises to delve deeper into the Jackal’s inner turmoil, stripping back his cold, calculated facade to explore the emotional cost of a career steeped in violence and deception.

The ensemble cast also returns, featuring Eleanor Matsuura as Zina Jansone, Chukwudi Iwuji as Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams as Isabel Kirby, Sule Rimi as Paul Pullman, and Florisa Kamara as Jasmine Pullman. Notably absent is Lashana Lynch’s Bianca, whose storyline reached its conclusion in the first season.

While no official release date has been announced, production is slated to begin in early 2025, with the new season expected to premiere sometime in 2026, pending scheduling.
