The Transporter (Le Transporteur in French) is a 2002 French-English action thriller directed by Cory Yuen from a screenplay by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. The film launched the highly successful Transporter franchise and introduced Jason Statham as Frank Martin, a British mercenary driver living in France who unexpectedly becomes entangled in a dangerous human trafficking ring. The original cast also featured Shu Qi, François Berléand, Matt Schulze, and Ric Young.

Inspired by the acclaimed short film series The Hire, The Transporter premiered at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles on October 2, 2002. It was theatrically released in the United States on October 11 by 20th Century Fox, and in France on October 23 by EuropaCorp.
