The Day of the Jackal – Season 2 (2025)

The second season of The Day of the Jackal delves deeper into the universe of espionage, betrayal, and personal redemption that captivated audiences in its first season. Eddie Redmayne returns as the enigmatic assassin known only as the Jackal, a man whose lethal mastery belies his inner turmoil.

Following the shocking finale of the previous season, the Jackal is forced to fight on two fronts: confronting the collapse of his relationship with his estranged wife, Nuria (Úrsula Corberó), and seeking revenge against his former handler, Timothy Winthrop (Charles Dance), whose betrayal ruined a crucial mission. This new season promises a more introspective approach, revealing the emotional scars hidden behind his cold precision and exploring the price of a life lived in the shadows.

The cast returns with Eleanor Matsuura as Zina Jansone, Chukwudi Iwuji as Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams as Isabel Kirby, Sule Rimi as Paul Pullman, and Florisa Kamara as Jasmine Pullman. Lashana Lynch’s character, Bianca, will not return following the conclusion of her story arc in the first season.

Filming will begin in early 2025, with a 2026 premiere planned, subject to production schedules. A darker, more intimate, and more dangerous season is coming.
