In San Andreas 2 (2025), the earth trembles once more as a new, even more catastrophic disaster threatens the West Coast of the United States. Set five years after the events of the original San Andreas movie, the aftermath of the massive earthquake that devastated California has left the region reeling, but the survivors are slowly rebuilding their lives. However, scientists have discovered that the fault lines are still activeโand now the risk of an even more destructive event looms on the horizon.
Ray Gaines (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and his family have been living in the relative safety of Northern California, but Ray is once again called back into action when a sudden and unprecedented series of tremors begins to ravage the region. As the ground shakes and new, terrifying fractures begin to appear in the earth’s crust, Ray’s expertise as a rescue pilot and former firefighter is needed more than ever.
The disaster, however, is not just confined to California. A massive series of seismic events, including an underwater megaquake along the Cascadia Subduction Zone and an erupting volcano off the coast of Oregon, creates a chain reaction that threatens the entire Pacific Coast. As coastal cities like San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland face extreme danger, Ray and his family must work together to survive.
With time running out and the whole region descending into chaos, Ray, his ex-wife Emma (Carla Gugino), and their daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario) must put aside old wounds and navigate through treacherous, collapsing cities, flooded landscapes, and deadly aftershocks to reach safety.
